Recently awarded the Furniture Industry Research Association Award for Ergonomics Excellence, the Newton chair is now available to CFG members from British Thornton ESF. Newton challenges attitudes to seating in the classroom and responds to the wide variety of activities and users in educational environments.

Pragmatic ergonomics is central to the design. Newton has an adjustable seat and integral footrest to help avoid dimensional mismatch, which can cause fatigue and loss of concentration. It also incorporates a simple two tilt sitting position, enabling students to lean back to listen in comfort and to tip forward for a more healthy upright reading and writing position when working at a table
