BS EN 1729 is a pan-european standard for "Furniture - Chairs and Tables for educational institutions" launched at the beginning of 2007.

It sets out new dimensional relationships for chairs, tables and standing-height work surfaces, incorporating the most recent ergonomic principles of postural support.
